The world of fashion is never going to be the same again and designers are having to come up with innovative ways to showcase their collections online. Meet Anifa Mvuemba, fashion designer and creative director of Hanifa, who has created a 3D fashion show that will definitely make your jaw drop.
See for yourself:
That is just a short screenshot of her incredible fashion show for her Congo-Inspired Pink Label Capsule Collection. The ready-to-wear contemporary line premiered via Instagram last night, where it can be re-watched at @hanifabridal, showcasing her bold patterns inspired by the nature of the Congo in a modern experience influenced by the events of the pandemic. When I watched the show, I was absolutely flabbergasted. The pure genius and innovation that went into the show truly takes my breath away. To perfectly capture how each item would drape on the body, the way it flows with movement, I actually can’t comprehend the amount of work and brilliance that went into it.
“We create for women without limitations…I found that the 3D world gave me a place to innovate. It’s important to believe in yourself, love what you do, and let the passion inspire you,” Mvuemba said in an official press release promoting the virtual fashion show.
This isn’t the first time the brand has used the power of digital world. Anifa uses online software to create new concepts for shoots using digitalised models, garments and backgrounds.
The Hanifa brand highlight the importance of diversity in the fashion industry, showcasing black women in their best light, as well as creating plus size models to showcase her garments. Her collections range from size 0 to 20.
The obviously beautiful imagery along with the pops off colour against the model’s dark skin tones creates such a flavourful collection, combined with Mvuemba’s social media and digital flare creates an incredible brand that many others should look up to. This is the stepping stones to the new digital world of fashion, and Hanifa has created something that sets a very high standard to compete against.
A beautiful show and a beautiful brand, definitely one to keep your eyes out for.
